The Bishop Brossart ‘Stangs softball team (1-1) played its second 34th District opponent on the road in two days and came away with a 19-0 no-hit three-inning run-ruling over the Lloyd Memorial Juggernauts (0-1).
Lloyd Memorial did manage to put five runners on base via walk. Neither team committed any errors. Bishop Brossart pounded out 16 hits.
Lloyd Memorial travels to Calvary Christian on Monday. Game time is 5:30 p.m. Bishop Brossart plays again Tuesday at home against Ludlow. Game time is 5:30 p.m.
Baseball:
Boone County 5, Simon Kenton 2:
The Rebels (1-1) scored four times in the top of the seventh to rally past the Pioneers (0-1) in Independence.
Boone County batted .233 (7 for 30) in the win. Senior Issac Vest led the way going 2 for 4 with a double, two runs batted in and two runs scored. Seniors Jayden Wilson and Justin Huff also went 2 for 4. Wilson had two RBIs.
Sophomore pitcher Chris Henson picked up the win for Boone County. He pitched three innings striking out three, walking three and allowed two hits and one earned run. Wilson threw the seventh for the save striking out two and walking one.
Simon Kenton is slated to take on Cooper at 7 p.m. at Thomas More Stadium in Florence on Friday. It is where the Florence Y’alls Frontier League Team plays. The Rebels play host to Fern Creek (1-0) on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
Carroll County 5, Scott 3:
The Eagles (1-1) lost their road battle against the Panthers (1-0) despite recording eight hits to three for the hosts. The teams had two errors each.
Sophomore shortstop Dylan Giffen went 2 for 3 with a double, walk and two runs scored for Scott. Junior center fielder Casey Hilbert went 2 for 4 with a double. Senior first baseman Logan Wiehoff added a double.
Junior Blaise Huiet (0-1) pitched the first three innings taking the loss for Scott. He struck out four, walked two and allowed two hits and two earned runs. Sophomore Gunner Bleha pitched the other three innings striking out six, walking two and allowing one earned run and one hit.
Scott plays at Pleasure Ridge Park on Saturday. Game time is 1 p.m.
