Governor Matt Bevin included multiple Northern Kentuckians in his latest round of appointments to state boards and commissions, and also filled a vacant seat on the California city commission.

Larry Hiller, a maintenance professional, was appointed to the city commission by Bevin.

California is a small city in southern Campbell Countu which had a population of 90 int he 2010 census.

Other appointments:

Dr. Mark A. Schroer, of Newport, was appointed to the State Board of Medical Licensure.

He will serve through August 31, 2023.

The State Board of Medical Licensure ensures that only qualified medical and osteopathic physicians are licensed and initiates appropriate disciplinary action in response to violations of the Medical Practice Act. The Board also regulates the practice of Physician Assistants, Surgical Assistants, Athletic Trainers and Acupuncturists in the Commonwealth.

Mark Francis Simendinger, of Edgewood, was appointed to the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.

His term is through April 27, 2022.

The Kentucky Horse Racing Commission is charged with the responsibility of regulating the conduct of horse racing and parimutuel wagering on horse racing and related activities within the Commonwealth.

Two from Northern Kentucky were appointed to the Consumers’ Advisory Council.

Jeannine Bell Smith, of Crescent Springs, and Alyssa Dara McDowell, of Covington, were appointed. Both received terms expiring September 8, 2020.

The Consumers’ Advisory Council acts as an advisory to consumers on consumer affairs in Kentucky and publishes an annual report on the state of consumer affairs within the Commonwealth.

Two from Northern Kentucky were also appointed to the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee.

Grant County Judge/Executive Charles E. “Chuck” Dills, of Williamstown, will represent the Kentucky Association of Counties and serve through July 22, 2021.

Paul William See, a project manager, will represent the Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs through the same expiration date.
