Let Go and Don't Worry About It by Ginger Sanders

Boone County Former Resident and Billy Graham Rapid Response Chaplain Ginger Sanders Releases Let Go and Don’t Worry About It, a Memoir of Surrender, Provision and Answered Prayer
From an Alabama gas station to Sandy Hook and Haiti, a family motto carried one couple through grief, infertility, international adoption and decades of disaster ministry
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (October 13, 2026) — Abundance Books, LLC will release Let Go and Don’t Worry About It by Ginger Sanders on November 3, 2026, in paperback and ePub. It is available now for pre-order wherever books are sold. The memoir follows Sanders and her husband, Denny, from small-town Alabama to the front lines of national tragedies as chaplains with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team.
The title comes from a motto the couple adopted early in their marriage. They leaned on it the day a nun asked if they would adopt a baby from South Korea, then waived every fee; when they turned down a company president’s offer to keep them in Chicago; and when Ginger wrote an earnest-money check on a house before they knew the price.
The book traces the loss of her mother to lupus when Sanders was an eighteen-year-old bride, the threat of the Vietnam draft, years of infertility, two adoptions from Seoul, an unexpected pregnancy and, in 1985, her own lupus diagnosis. Following God’s call, the family relocated from Alabama to Chicago, Cincinnati, Virginia, Kentucky and back again.
After years of reading her daily devotional on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association website, Sanders saw a call for Rapid Response Team chaplains. Denny guessed it would fill “two or three weeks a year.” Instead, the couple deployed to the Colorado wildfires, the Aurora theater shooting, Hurricane Sandy, the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and the Haiti earthquake. She writes about what happened there, including encounters in hospital rooms and at accident scenes that she describes as angelic.
“This book isn’t a theological lecture; it is a collection of breadcrumbs left on the trail to show you that God is profoundly entwined in every mile of your journey,” Sanders writes in the prologue. “We simply cannot experience the abundant life if we are white-knuckling a grievance, a fear, or a ‘what if.’ We have to let go of the wheel to find the path.”
Each of the book’s 31 chapters is anchored in Scripture. A Discussion Guide with reflection questions for every chapter makes the book suited to personal journaling or group study.
“It’s full of stories of God’s faithfulness, provision, and miracles amid hardships and things that are out of our control,” writes Jennifer Hand, executive director of Coming Alive Ministries and author of My Yes Is on the Table, in the foreword.
Ray Bombardieri, a retired Rapid Response Team chaplain who met Sanders on his first deployment in Colorado, adds: “Ginger has taken that love to hurting people multiple times in fulfilling Jesus’ directions to ‘Follow Me.’ … Now she is using her experience to write about that love with the hand of God on it!”
