PARK HILLS, Ky. — Carl Kirkendall, a third-shift press helper at Mubea in Florence and a DeVry University engineering technology student, has launched FUNNELS FUN & MORE LLC, a Northern Kentucky small business selling funnel cakes and original 3D-printed products.
Kirkendall, who lives in transitional housing in Park Hills, built the business from scratch in 2026 — designing products, learning 3D printing, and opening an online store while working 12-hour night shifts and completing coursework. He has finished 62 of 74 credit hours toward his associate degree.
“I’m the struggling man, and I’m building anyway,” Kirkendall said. “I want people around here to see that where you live right now doesn’t have to be where you end up.”
