Beechwood 63, Walton-Verona 7

The Tigers (6-0) got two rushing touchdowns from Tyler Fryman and an interception return for a score in Friday’s district bout in Fort Mitchell.

Fryman’s three touchdowns give him 64 for his career, putting him top five all-time in program history behind Cam Vocke (85), Brandon Berger (73), Chase Flaherty (72) and Logan Cattleman (70).

Another Tiger broke into the top five all-time in a different stat as Emmett Queen’s two first half touchdown passes gave him 52 in his 19-game career at Beechwood.

Nathan Pabst added a first half touchdown on a 35-yard grab.

Andrew Lynn got Walton-Verona (4-2) on the board right before the half on a four-yard run. The loss ended the Bearcats four-game winning streak as they look to win their next three games and secure a home playoff game. Next up is Gallatin County at home.

Beechwood looks to go 7-0 at St. Henry next week.

Conner 55, Boone County 14

The Cougars (2-5) raced out to a 21-0 lead by the end of one and 41-7 by halftime before enforcing the running clock with 8:02 left in the third. The win sets up an important district battle with Dixie Heights in Hebron Thursday, Oct. 8. The winner most likely earns their way to the No. 2 seed and a home playoff game.

Boone County (2-4) has lost their fourth straight game. They play at Scott on Thursday. The loser of that one is on the outside looking in at the playoff picture.

Dayton 43, Iroquois 12

Dayton improves to 6-0 for the first time since 1967 with a home blowout win over the visitors from Louisville.

The Battle for the Paddle takes place next week at Bellevue.

St. Henry 45, Owen County 14

The Crusaders (4-2) win their fourth straight as they’ve now doubled their win total from their inaugural season last year.

Campbell County 31, Newport Central Catholic 7

Xander Guy threw for 216 yards and three touchdowns as the Camels rolled past the Thoroughbreds.

Cade Anthrop was on the receiving end of two of Guy’s touchdown passes, Grady Lucas the other. Alex Riedinger added a defensive score. Campbell County sits at 3-3 headed into district play on Oct. 16 at home against Simon Kenton.

NewCath (1-5) hosts Newport next week. The ‘Breds struggled to move the ball, tallying 42 total yards.

Ludlow 51, Trimble County 26

Miller Reed threw for 206 yards and four touchdowns as the Panthers improved to 5-2.

Jaylen Stone and Andre Englemon Jr. were Reed’s top targets, Stone had six receptions for 91 yards, Englemon Jr. four receptions for 90 yards and two touchdowns. Landen Yates added the other two receiving touchdowns.

The Panthers added 168 yards on the ground, Yates adding a rushing score to his tally, Stone and Reed also finding paydirt with their feet.

Ludlow gets a bye before playing at Bishop Brossart in a district battle Oct. 16.
