Week 4 LINK nky Pick ’em

Week 4 is here!

This year at LINK nky, we decided to add some fun to our coverage. We’re going to do a weekly picks contest with the three of the sports writers (Evan Dennison, Ray Schaefer and Josh Kalb) we have here and throw in a little twist…a guest picker each week. The guest picker will most likely be someone you recognize as a member of our community, whether it be someone who is on the sidelines with us, sports TV personalities, former coaches or players or someone who may not even be entrenched in the sports scene, but still invested in our communities to some capacity.

Josh has been lights out in the first three weeks, going 25-5 and taking a two-game lead on the rest of the pack. He went 9-1 last week, the only loss was Bellevue in the closing seconds to Pendleton County. This week we throw in a couple of college games and the Bengals Week 1 opener against Tampa Bay.

Guest picker this week: Joe Danneman

This week we turn to Joe Danneman. Joe is the Sports Director for Fox 19 Now and has been for 13 years. Joe is a CovCath grad and stays loyal to his hometown roots, often showing up at local high school games to help deliver the next great highlight.

A Northern Kentucky native, Danneman has spent much of his career telling the stories that matter to the region—from the Bengals and Reds to college athletics and high school sports across Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

Danneman’s resume has included coverage of two Super Bowls, four national championship college football games, the NCAA Final Four, MLB Opening Day and dozens of state championship events. He has earned three regional Emmy Awards and was named the 2024 Ohio Sports Broadcaster of the Year by the National Sports Media Association.
