Poplar Ridge Road in Campbell County will close for about six weeks to allow for landslide repairs and the installation of a road support wall, according to an announcement from Campbell County on Tuesday.
“This restriction is necessary to protect road crews and provide the work zone space needed for heavy equipment and construction activity,” according to the county. The six week work schedule is weather dependent.
Drivers who frequent the road should avoid the area and find alternative routes. The county recommends residents observe the following precautions to ensure safety:
- Obey all road closed signs and barricades
- Do not move or drive around barricades
- Expect construction traffic and changing conditions near the work zone
County residents can stay up to do date on the construction and other things happening in the county by following Campbell County’s Facebook page and by signing up for Smart911 alerts to receive emergency broadcasts and other public alerts.
