Partners For Change Applauds Kentucky Senate Resolution 39 Recognizing January as Mentoring Month
Covington, KY [January 22, 2026] — Partners for Change proudly celebrates the passage of Kentucky Senate Resolution 39, formally recognizing January as Mentoring Month across the Commonwealth. The resolution highlights the vital role mentorship plays in supporting young people, strengthening communities, and building pathways to long-term success.
Mentoring is a core program of Partners For Change’s to implement our mission across Northern Kentucky. Through community-based programs, strategic partnerships, and advocacy, the organization ensures young people have access to trusted mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, and real-world connections that positively influence academic, career, and life outcomes. Partners For Change currently collaborates with Covington Independent, Erlanger-Elsmere Independent, and Dayton Independent School Districts to deliver high-quality mentoring opportunities to students within their districts.
“Mentoring is one of the most powerful tools we have to create lasting change,” said Stacie Strotman, CEO of Partners For Change. “Senate Resolution 39 affirms what our community sees every day that when caring adults support young people, they are more likely to succeed in school, enter the workforce prepared, and remain engaged citizens.”
The resolution emphasizes mentorship as a proven strategy for improving educational attainment, workforce readiness, and community engagement, priorities that align closely with Partners For Change’s collaborative approach to addressing Northern Kentucky’s most pressing challenges.
“We recognize the importance of workplaces inviting students and guiding them into a career path they may not have known otherwise. Mentoring can lead to internships, apprenticeships, and paid positions that support the future workforce of Kentucky,” said resolution sponsor Senator Shelley Funke Frommeyer (District 24).
Partners For Change encourages community members, businesses, educators, and civic leaders to use Mentoring Month as an opportunity to invest time, resources, and energy into mentorship efforts. Whether through formal programs or informal relationships, mentorship strengthens individuals and builds more resilient communities.
