Snow and other precipitation predicted for this weekend could lead to slick roads, the National Weather Service warns.

“Periods of light snow will develop late this evening and continue past midnight,” according to a special weather announcement from the National Weather Service. “Accumulations of an inch or two along with cooling pavement temperatures will result in slippery roadways, particularly on untreated roads and overpasses. If traveling, allow for some extra time to reach your destination and be prepared for wintery driving conditions.”

The following cities especially will be affected, according to the National Weather Service: Florence, Burlington, Oakbrook, Covington, Erlanger, Independence, Newport, Fort Thomas, Highland Heights, Bellevue, Dayton and Alexandria.

Temperatures are expected to drop severely beginning Sunday and extending through Tuesday night.
