A flood advisory is in effect until 6:30 p.m. in northern Kenton and northern Campbell counties, according to the National Weather Service.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms beginning around 4 p.m. led to the advisory.

“Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area,” according to the advisory. “Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible.”

Affected cities include Covington, Erlanger, Fort Thomas, Newport, Edgewood, Fort Mitchell, Villa Hills, Highland Heights, Taylor Mill, Bellevue, Fort Wright, Dayton, Ludlow, Southgate, Crescent Springs, Crestview Hills and Park Hills.
