Independence, KY (July 2, 2025) — Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering individuals with challenges through therapeutic horsemanship, is proud to announce it has achieved Premier Accredited Center status from the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International (PATH Intl.).
This prestigious designation recognizes Milestones’ unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and best practices in equine-assisted services. It affirms the program’s dedication to providing transformative experiences that foster strength, healing, and independence—one stride at a time.

Milestones serves a diverse population including individuals with Cerebral Palsy, Autism, Down Syndrome, and other developmental and physical challenges. In 2024 alone, the Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program provided 40 weeks of lessons to 189 riders, supported by a skilled team of certified instructors, therapists, and volunteers. Additional programs like Silver Saddles for older adults and the literacy-focused Horse Tales reading initiative have further expanded Milestones’ impact in the region.
Highlighting its outstanding community impact, Milestones was honored as the 2024 Nonprofit of the Year for Therapeutic Camps by Cincy Magazine, a testament to its excellence and dedication.
Based on a 44-acre facility in Independence, KY, Milestones offers state-of-the-art amenities, including indoor and outdoor arenas, comfortable viewing areas, and specialized horse care facilities. The organization’s herd of carefully selected therapy horses plays a central role in each participant’s journey toward increased confidence, physical strength, and emotional well-being.
As Milestones looks ahead to 2025, plans are underway to expand its therapeutic riding program by adding more horses and serving additional riders, alongside enhanced community outreach and fundraising efforts.
