The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory from Sunday to Wednesday evening.
Heat indexes (i.e. the feeling of heat outside) are expected to reach as high as 103. The weather service recommends people “drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned rooms, stay out of the sun and check up on relatives and neighbors,” as well as pets, the elderly and anyone with health problems.
People should wear loose-fitting clothing and avoid strenuous outdoor activities. Alcohol consumption is not recommended, and the service warns against leaving kids and pets in cars.
