A stained glass tribute to Frank Duveneck, offered as a submission for the Covington 2075 Time Capsule.

The Covington 2075 Time Capsule has some great options, and the city needs your help choosing what to include.

In a joint event with LINK nky and the Kenton County Library, the city of Covington hosted the “Fill a Time Capsule” event on April 12 in front of the library’s Latonia branch.

Residents submitted items for consideration for the time capsule, which will be opened in 2075.

Former WCPO anchor Evan Millward hosted the event, and students from NKU’s Norse Media captured clips of the residents explaining their submissions.

Of course, the 20-inch by 16.2-inch by 16-inch capsule won’t allow every item to be included. Therefore, Norse Media students will also edit the video of the submittal pitches from the event into a file and store it on a flash drive to be placed inside the time capsule.

Kenton County Library Director Dave Schroeder, staff from the library’s Local History and Genealogy Department, and Covington First Lady Angela Washington—wife of Mayor Ron Washington—will curate selected items from the submittal event for the capsule.

However, the final item included will be up to you. Watch the video below, and vote for your favorite. The item with the most votes will be included in the time capsule.

The contents will be finalized by April 30 in time for the time capsule’s dedication on May 13, from 3:30 to 5 p.m., at the corner of Russell Street and Stewart Alley at the Covington Central Riverfront.

Click through this playlist below to watch all the submissions and make sure to vote in our poll (below the video) for your favorite!
