Fall is here and the City of Covington has several great events planned for the month of October!

Below are list of activities and events this month sponsored by the City of Covington Recreation Department. For any additional information or questions please contact recreation@covingtonky.gov or 859-292-2151.

Licking River Greenway Trail Day
Volunteers are needed on Saturday, October 3, from 9 a.m. to noon to help remove invasive species, replant native plants, and pick up litter and debris along the Greenway Trails. Join the City of Covington Recreation Dept. and the Kenton Conservancy and lend a hand in making our community a greener place to live!

Supplies and lunch will be provided. Meet at Austinburg Park (15th and Eastern). Sign up by contacting the Recreation Department.

Devou Fall Festival
From 12-5 p.m. on October 18, the Covington Recreation Dept. will be hosting its annual Fall Festival at the Drees Pavilion Outlook in Devou Park.

Bring the kids for an afternoon of entertainment, food, and family activities. There will be hay rides, a petting zoo, inflatables, music by the Appalachian Troubadours, and pony rides. Skool Aid will be providing interactive and enriching games and activities throughout the day.

Latonia Halloween Block Party
The Latonia Business Association is hosting their 10th annual Halloween Block Party from 2-5 p.m. on Saturday, October 24, at Ritte’s Corner.

There will be costume contests for kids and grownups, carriage rides, a petting zoo, Trick-or-Treat line, and refreshments. For questions, contact Tom at 859-431-3982.

Parks Survey
The City of Covington, along with Ludlow and Bromley are jointly hosting a website survey. This site is a public resource and input tool for parks and recreation in the urban core of Kenton County. It will help gather information from the publicas part of planning effort for future parks and park programming.

It also features an interactive map that shows the location and amenities available at each park located within the cities of Covington, Ludlow, and Bromley.
