The city of Newport announced that city commissioner Mike Radwanski has earned his Level II certification through the Kentucky League of Cities City Officials Training Program.

Radwanski has completed 75.5 hours of training, putting him on his way to achieving the master’s in city governance, which requires 87 hours of coursework.

The city officials training program offers an extensive curriculum designed to equip city leaders with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively serve their communities. Radwanski’s coursework has covered a variety of topics including finance, ethics, community development, and leadership, enabling him to bring those insights and best practices back to Newport.

“The city officials training program offers a wide curriculum of topics that have been helpful in navigating the role of city commissioner,” Radwanski said. “I always look forward to sharing my learnings with staff and my peers on the board.”
