Ryle 42, Campbell County 14

The Raiders got this one to a running clock before halftime in the district opener between the two.

Jacob Savage ran for two touchdowns, Nathan Verax throwing for three in Ryle’s big first half.

The Camels were able to post two scores in the second half on a Trevor Bertram rushing touchdown and Lucas Anthrop hitting Ayden Earls for a score.

Ryle’s expected biggest test in the district comes next week when they face Great Crossing in Union. Both teams sit at 6-2 and the winner having a clear path to the No. 1 seed in the district for postseason play.

Great Crossing 45, Simon Kenton 35

Brady Lee threw for 440 yards and three touchdowns, but the Pioneers efforts came up short in Georgetown.

A total of 957 combined yards ensued in this shootout, Great Crossing putting the game on ice with a field goal with 1:45 to play to make it a 10-point game.

Cooper 41, Scott 0

The Jaguars put up 28 points in the first 13:21 of the game in the shutout victory. Cooper improves to 8-0 with a game at Boone County next week.

Beechwood 42, Owen County 0

The Tigers led 28-0 at halftime and got the game to a running clock midway through the third in a matchup of 6-1 teams.

Beechwood’s streak of shutting out district opponents has now reached nine games. They’ll look to make it 10 next week in a home game with Carroll County.

Bellevue 42, Dayton 0

The Tigers improved to 98-50-3 all-time in the series between these two, the most played matchup all-time in the state.
