The city of Fort Wright has partnered with the North Carolina City & County Management Association to deliver needed non-perishable items to flood-ravaged Old Fort, North Carolina.
The town of Old Fort, N.C. is located 30 miles east of Asheville and, in 2024, had a population of 820 people.

North Carolina City & County Management Association Executive Director Rob Shepherd has indicated that many cities and counties remain in response mode assessing the magnitude of the damage and still searching for missing persons. He said that many communities still do not have power or reliable communications, many roads are damaged or destroyed limiting and preventing transportation, and that there is a need for a variety of non-perishable items.Â
