The ceremonial crowning of Junior Mr. and Miss Juneteenth is happening this week.

For Family By Family, an organization dedicated to creating impactful and resourceful community events and promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, is putting on the event. It will take place on June 13, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., at the Florence Government Center, Meeting Room B & C, 8100 Ewing Blvd. in Florence.

This event will celebrate the achievements and talents of two young leaders, Junior Mr. Juneteenth Dante Hall, and Miss Juneteenth Leigh-Nichole Crabbe. Both students have excelled academically, maintaining 4.0 GPAs, and have made significant contributions to their community. This celebration aims to recognize their hard work and inspire others in the community.

The evening will feature participation from local businesses, organizations, city officials, state representatives, community supporters and local media.

“The ceremonial crowning is not only a historical event but also a heartfelt opportunity to show our youth that they are loved, supported, and valued,” For Family By Family said in a press release. “We are honored to extend personal invitations to those whose presence would significantly highlight the importance of this event and offer inspiration and encouragement to our young leaders. Your participation would underscore the community’s collective support and investment in their bright futures.”

RSVP here by June 11.
