Different than prior years, the Kentucky High School Athletic Association will be having a state team tennis tournament this year.
In previous years, the team champion was determined based off singles and doubles results in the individual tournaments. Now each region champion will get a chance to participate as a team to win the team state title.
The team tournament for both boys and girls will begin on June 3 with first round and quarterfinal action at two sites. The boys’ team tournament will take place at University of Kentucky on the opening day while the girls’ team event will be held at Berea College. All action on the second day, semifinals and finals will take place at UK.
The default format of the event is three singles and two doubles matches. Covington Catholic was the team champion last year in boys.
