Police responded to the 300 block of W 34th Street in Latonia just after 3 p.m. Saturday for the shooting.

There, they found Lane, 25, shot multiple times. She died at the scene, police said.

A neighbor told WCPO 9 that they heard 2 gunshots around 3 p.m. before their Ring doorbell camera picked up multiple cop cars driving by.

Loud crying could also be heard as police were investigating the scene. They had 34th Street completely taped off between Graff Street and Beech Avenue.

Lane’s mother said the 25-year-old got in an argument with someone she knew, and it ended with gunshots. The family said Lane’s two children and sister were upstairs at the time, and they were not injured.

Anyone who has seen Payne is asked to not approach and call 911. Police ask anyone with information to call the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
