Northern Kentucky boasts a bustling culinary scene. While you might get filled up from the annual Christmas dinner, there are other Northern Kentucky hotspots that you and your family can frequent over the holiday season.

LINK nky is highlighting some Northern Kentucky restaurants you should consider taking your family for dinner.

Kealoha’s Kitchen

529 Main St., Covington

This restaurant recently relocated from Latonia to MainStrasse, bringing it to the forefront of the Covington food scene.

Their menu consists of Hawaiian-inspired dishes from proprietor Val Abafo’s childhood in Oahu. Abafo, along with his wife Amy, founded the restaurant in 2020 as a tribute to his late brother Rudy Kealoha.

Some of their most popular dishes include pineapple teriyaki short rib, kalua pig — smoke flavored and slow-roasted pork with cabbage and onions, and the pineapple teriyaki brisket.

Customers can dine in or order takeout with a Bento Box, Aloha Plate, or Kanak Attack.

MRBL

119 Fairfield Ave., Bellevue

This Bellevue eatery is located on the top floor of the Bellevue Plaza. With an extensive menu offering seafood, sushi and steak, MRBL is positioning itself as one of Northern Kentucky’s go-to steakhouses.

Some of their top menu items include the bone in filet mignon, dry-aged bone-in ribeye and the $120 MRBL Tomahawk.

The restaurant’s atmosphere caters to fine dining enthusiasts. If you want to get in, just make sure you call ahead and book a reservation.

In addition, customers have access to a pristine top-floor view of downtown Cincinnati.

Camporosso

2475 Dixie Highway, Fort Mitchell

Widely regarded as one of the region’s top destinations for pizza, this Fort Mitchell restaurant has a cult following among Northern Kentuckians.

Their menu features several wood-fired pizzas, including chicken and pesto, Soprossata Hot Honey, The Pepper and the Pig, which has crushed tomatoes, peppadew peppers, wild boar salami, fresh mozzarella, and the Camporosso Deluxe — a pie with red sauce, onion, green pepper, mushroom, cup and char pepperoni, sausage, shredded mozzarella.

Want something to drink? Camporosso has a number of red and white wines from Italy, California and France. Not only that, but Camporosso has a specialty cocktail list for those who want something a little more than wine.

Tousey House Tavern

5963 N. Jefferson St., Burlington

Want southern-style cuisine inside one of Boone County’s oldest buildings? Tousey House Tavern can satisfy this need.

Constructed in 1822, the Tousey House has changed hands several times over its 200-year history. In 1987, former Judge Bruce Ferguson and his wife Elizabeth purchased the property and have since returned it to its former prestige.

Their menu features Southern offerings like fried chicken, steak, burgers, chicken salad, chicken thighs and pork chops. To drink, customers can enjoy bourbon flights, local beer, and wine.
