The Kentucky League of Cities presented Alexandria Mayor Andrew Schabell with a Level I Achievement in City Governance award.

Kentucky League of Cities administers the City Officials Training Center, a voluntary education program. City officials can complete education levels by attending organization events and submitting outside educational credit from other municipal training.

“When I began my journey in local government, I had a broad view of what I could do,” Schabell said. “The training offered by the Kentucky League of Cities for city officials has been instrumental in guiding me in my understanding of what I can do and shaping me into the mayor I am today. I am grateful for this recognition and excited to apply these principles in making our community stronger, more vibrant, and more transparent for the people of Alexandria.”

The Level I Achievement in City Governance award requires a city official to attend a minimum of 29 hours of approved training with one hour of ethics training.
