SCOTT FOOTBALL

The Eagles got their first win of the season in a 52-8 victory over Holmes on Friday night. They spread the ball around and used big plays on offense, defense and special teams to prevail.
Jordan Goff threw for two touchdowns, Trey Cook another and Goff and Boomer Klusman ran for scores. Kaymon Coleman returned a kickoff for a touchdown and also intercepted a pass while Nate Brooks, Dylan Giffen and Cameron Vice all caught touchdown passes.
The Eagles defense held Holmes to 159 yards as Klusman led the charge with seven tackles, one for loss and a sack. Giffen also intercepted a pass while Dustin Wilson recovered a fumble and Malcolm Perrin recorded two tackles for loss and a sack.
Scott has put up 104 points in their last three games as they get a week off before district play starts with Conner on Sept. 22.
BISHOP BROSSART BOYS SOCCER

The Mustangs outscored the opponent 21-2 during the week with wins over Walton-Verona, Montgomery County and Calvary Christian, the win over the Cougars earning them a 10th Region All “A” title.
They scored seven goals in each game, surrendering goals to the Bearcats and Cougars.
Five different Mustangs scored multiple goals during the week with Alex Runge and Tyler Smith leading the way with five apiece. Brennan Callahan and Max Runge scored four goals each with Landon Guidugli scoring two goals. Top distributors were Alex Runge with six assists, Callahan, Max Runge and Tyler Smith with three assists while Guidugli and Luke Alwell had two apiece.
Michael Cooney had 11 saves in net, allowing just the two goals in three games.
The victory over Montgomery County was revenge from last season’s 5-0 loss in the 10th Region championship. The Mustangs are 9-2-3 on the season with a date at Campbell County looming on Tuesday.
RYLE GIRLS SOCCER

The Raiders snapped an eight-game losing streak in a big way with three straight wins at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Gatlinburg, Tennessee over the weekend.
They outscored the competition 8-0 in the three games with wins over Notre Dame Academy (NY), Trinity Christian Academy (TN) and University School (Nashville).
Maleah Lehmkuhl was the keeper for all three clean sheets, recording 21 saves. Hannah Engel led the way with three goals, Cassie Gripshover scoring two in the week.
Ryle improved their record to 4-8 with the winning streak.
CONNER VOLLEYBALL

The Cougars continued their sizzling start to the season with victories over Highlands and Campbell County as they improved to 12-2.
The win over Highlands came in three sets (25-17, 25-21, 25-22) as Lillian Hamburg led the way with 21 kills. Peyton Walker had eight kills to go with seven blocks, Carly Nehus also collecting eight kills. Aubrey Depenbrock had 16 assists, Jordan Ransdell with 14. Anna Hamilton led in the digs department with 14.
It was a five-set thriller in the victory over Campbell County (17-25, 26-24, 21-25, 25-23, 15-12) coming back from a set down on two different occasions. It was Hamburg again leading the way with 20 kills, Peyton Walker adding 13 and Carly Nehus with 10. Aubrey Depenbrock had 26 assists, Mackenzie Sandeen with 13 and Randsell adding 11. Hamilton posted 35 digs, Madison Leiprecht with 12 and Depenbrock with 10.
