One of Northern Kentucky’s largest logistics companies is expanding its operations by acquiring a Cincinnati firm’s freight brokerage department.

Verst Logistics, a Walton-based third-party logistics provider, acquired LOTH Logistics’ managed transpiration and freight brokerage division. The acquisition was finalized on July 30.

“We are excited to welcome the employees, customers, carriers, and agents of Loth Logistics to the Verst family,” Verst Logistics President and Chief Operating Officer Todd Johnson said in a news release. “This acquisition perfectly aligns with our long-term growth strategy, strengthening our position as a leading provider of comprehensive logistics solutions.”

The division will be integrated into Verst’s Transportation Business Unit. The move is part of Verst’s Strategic Growth plan, which aims to grow the scale of their non-asset transportation services, a type of logistics service where a company negotiates with the owners of transportation services, warehouses and distribution centers to provide custom solutions.

“Expanding our non-asset-based transportation services enables us to meet the evolving needs of our customers with greater efficiency and flexibility,” said Chris Verst, director of transportation at Verst Logistics. “This milestone showcases our relentless pursuit of innovation and our commitment to delivering unparalleled value in the transportation industry.”

Founded over 55 years ago, Verst offers services such as omnichannel fulfillment, warehousing, shrink sleeve labeling, packaging and freight brokerage.

Since its founding, the company grew to operate out of a network of warehouses throughout the United States.

In total, their warehouse network spans 27 sites which cover a combined area of over 8.2 million square feet. Across all divisions, they employ over 2,200 people.
