Boone County Veterans Memorial — The Boone County Veterans Memorial is smaller than the other attractions on this list, but it’s a great way to pay tribute to veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces this Independence Day. Located in Florence, the memorial features plaques corresponding to the conflicts involving the Armed Forces and a pristine pool centering it all, perfect for a leisurely walk before checking out some of the other festivities in the city, like the Florence Aquatic Center.

Caesar Creek State Park — Located near Dayton, Ohio in Waynesville, Caesar Creek is one of the most well-known park systems in the region. Featuring 7,530 acres of park and lake space, amenities include everything from mountain biking, hiking, boating, fishing, horseback trails and even a pioneer village. What’s more, the Fourth of July will feature a two-hour holiday hike that will take visitors through the pioneer village and several of the park’s more notable natural features.
