The LINK nky Team of the Week for May 8-14 presented by Ortho Cincy is the Dixie Heights girls track and field team.
The Colonels more than doubled up everyone else, collecting 56% of the vote, Villa Madonna’s softball team coming in second with 24% of votes.
Earning Dixie Heights Team of the Week honors was their performance at their own Dixie Invite on May 9, taking home first place honors in the eight-team field.
DIXIE HEIGHTS GIRLS TRACK AND FIELD

The Colonels won their own meet on May 9, taking down the eight-team field by 14 points. Dixie Heights racked up 126 points, Highlands coming in second with 112.
Top three finishers in the meet for Dixie were:
Ashtyn Ivey, 100-meter dash (12.88), first place
Lauren Williams, 3,200 meters (13:09.30), second place
Caroline Hooper, high jump (4-10), second place
Aubrey Elkins, long jump (16-06), second place
Aubrey Elkins, 200-meter dash (27.94), third place
Alayna Hocker, 400 meters (1:03.90), third place
Harper Allen, 800 meters (2:33.79), third place
Hope Tignor, 1,600 meters (5:58.93), third place
Makenzie Mitchell, 100-meter hurdles (17.52), third place
Emily Bruns, 300-meter hurdles (50.63), third place
Abby Parsons, pole vault (7-06), third place
The Colonels finished strong in the relays, winning the 4×100 (51.35), 4×200 (1:48.09) and the 4×400 (4:16.02).
