Three Florence Y’alls players will be part of the West Division team in next week’s Frontier League All-Star Game.
Anthony Brocato, Alberti Chavez, and Brennan Price have been named to the midsummer match-up. It is the first selection for each player.
Price, the lone All-Star starter among the Y’alls’ three selections, has hit 10 home runs so far this season. He has a batting average of .307 with 42 RBI, six doubles, and a triple. The runs batted in are tied for eighth-most in the Frontier League.
Brocato has been a staple in the Y’alls outfield this season, playing both center and right field. Through Sunday’s action, Brocato is hitting .291 with 14 home runs and 41 RBI. He has added seven doubles and two stolen bases. The 14 home runs lead the Y’alls and are good for a tie for fourth-most in the Frontier League.
Chavez has been one of the best shortstops in the league all season long, hitting .332 with four home runs and 28 runs batted in. The Venezuelan has 16 doubles, one triple, seven steals, and only two errors defensively. The batting average is tied for twelfth-best in the Frontier League. Chavez’s doubles total is tied for third-most in the league.
All three players are in their first season with Florence. Brocato spent two seasons playing for the Southern Illinois Miners and is only three home runs away from tying his total from last season. Chavez spent seven seasons in the Cincinnati Reds minor league system, including reaching Triple-A Louisville for 32 games. Price was with the Y’alls during spring training last year before sustaining a season-ending injury.
The 2022 Frontier League All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 20 at 7:05 p.m. at Wild Things Park in Washington, PA. The East and the West Division teams will feature 27 players. Each Frontier League team is represented with at least one player.
