Union rejects appointment of former commissioner amid election troubles
The Union City Commission voted against appointing a fifth member to an open seat on the commission due to ongoing election troubles, with Mayor Larry Solomon and Commissioner John Mefford voting in favor of the appointment and Commissioners Brian Garner and Eric Dulaney casting no votes.

Judge rules Union election contest can continue
Judge Richard Bruegemann of the Boone County Circuit Court has declined to take up a restraining order request that would have prevented the winners of the election for the Union City Commission in November from taking office next year, and has denied a motion from the Boone County clerk to strike a challenge to the local November election.
