Titans’ Gage Miller’s 18-yard field goal with one second remaining capped off a wild night in Edgewood.
At one point, Dixie Heights (4-7) trailed 21-0 in the second quarter, but Mason Fields rallied the troops. The Colonels tied the game up at 28 by halftime and the shootout continued from there.
Fields threw for 410 yards and seven touchdowns, Nishawn Golsby the primary beneficiary with seven catches for 248 yards and three touchdowns.
Collins (8-3) quarterback Kade Goodin ran for 214 yards and four touchdowns, while also throwing for 321 yards and two scores. They advance to face Woodford County in the second round.

Covington Catholic 48, Boyd County 21
The Colonels (8-3) shot out to a 34-0 halftime lead against Boyd County (6-5).
Dylan Gaiser rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns, Cash Harney threw for 204 yards and two touchdowns and added a rushing touchdown in the victory. The Colonels got the game to a running clock with 8:37 left in the third, Logan Sanning providing multiple scores as well with a rushing and receiving touchdown. Harney’s other touchdown toss went to Owen Pitzer.
CovCath travels southeast next week to Johnson Central in the marquee 4A second round matchup. The Golden Eagles are 11-0.
Highlands 35, Greenup County 7
Rio Litmer threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns as the Bluebirds took a 35-0 lead into halftime over Greenup County (4-7).
Freshman Bryce Armstrong caught three passes for 90 yards and two touchdowns, John Feldbrugge adding a 69-yard receiving touchdown, Colt Kremer and Chase Jacob also hauling in receiving scores.
The Bluebirds (9-2) picked off three passes and allowed 162 total yards. They’ll host Ashland in the second round next week.

Class A
Holy Cross 54, Dayton 6
Holy Cross (11-0) held Dayton (3-8) to two first downs and 69 total yards in staying undefeated.
The Indians had nine different ball carriers, five of them reaching the end zone. Charles Oglesby led the way with 76 rushing yards and a touchdown, Brian Ferguson, Dustin Wilson, Jason Rieselman and Trevin Figgs also finding paydirt on the ground.
Ferguson threw for 84 yards and two touchdowns, Jason Rieselman adding a touchdown pass. Max Hunt, Thomas Maddox and Jordan Hudson were on the receiving ends of them. The win sets up a matchup with Newport in the second round.
Malachi Kennedy had 62 rushing yards and a touchdown to lead the Greendevils.
Newport 42, Ludlow 2
Trailing 2-0 after a quarter of play, Newport (7-4) scored 42 unanswered to take down visiting Ludlow (4-7).
Jaden Conley threw four touchdown passes, two of them to Damarco Jackson, the others to Kendell Buck-Barber and Jordan Llanes. Conley’s touchdown passes had some distance with them, going for 51, 31, 33 and 37 yards. Buck-Barber added 72 yards rushing, Conley also finding the end zone on the ground once. Dontae Holder intercepted a pass for a touchdown for the Wildcats final score with 11:16 in the fourth to get the game to a running clock.
Ludlow’s Jaylen Stone had four catches for 74 yards to lead the Panthers.

Scott County 48, Conner 7
The Cougars season came to a close with a loss in Georgetown on Thursday.
They closed out the campaign with a 4-7 record. Scott County gets the Cooper/South Oldham winner next week in the second round.
Class 3A
Lloyd Memorial 48, Bath County 0
Kaleb Evans completed all nine of his passes for 121 yards and five touchdowns as the Juggernauts are on to the second round.
Lloyd (11-0) led 48-0 at halftime as Isaiah Jones caught two touchdown passes, Avery Conrad, Colten Barger and Alijah Griffin with one each.
The defense and special teams also got in on the scoring action as Barger returned a fumble for a score and Marjae Peterson returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown.
Lloyd awaits the East Carter/Henry County winner in the second round of the playoffs in Erlanger.
Class 2A
Walton-Verona 49, Morgan County 6
The Bearcats (5-6) led 42-6 at half as they cruised to victory in West Liberty.
They’ll play at Beechwood next week.
Class A
Newport Central Catholic 42, Trimble County 0
The Thoroughbreds (7-4) put up 42 points before the half in advancing to the second round on Thursday night at Covington Catholic.
Emmanuel Miles threw for 133 yards and two touchdowns, Eddie Bivens ran for 74 yards and two touchdowns and Thomas Messmer returned an interception for a touchdown in the blowout victory.
Mario League also found the end zone on the ground, Grayden Schirmer through the air. NewCath awaits the Bishop Brossart/Bellevue winner in the second round.
