The 9th Region will induct its first Hall of Fame class during the 9th Region baseball tournament in May.

It’s been in the works for some time and it’s beyond time to start recognizing the past.

The Northern Kentucky Baseball Coaches Association is creating a 9th Region Baseball Hall of Fame.

The new tradition will honor the rich history, remarkable talent and lasting legacy of baseball in the community.

“This has been long overdue,” NKBCA president Kevin Gray said. “We got together and went through decades. They’ll get a nice shirt, engraved bat and put it in a glass case.”

On May 26, the inaugural class will be inducted between the 9th Region baseball tournament semifinals at Thomas More Stadium.

The Hall of Fame was formed to recognize the players, coaches, and umpires whose impact on the game has shaped generations. From dominant athletes and championship‑winning coaches to respected officials who upheld the integrity of the sport, the 9th Region has been home to countless individuals who elevated baseball in Northern Kentucky. Their stories deserve to be remembered, shared and celebrated.

The first class of inductees reflects the depth of that legacy.  Their achievements on the field, their leadership in dugouts and classrooms and their influence on young athletes have left an enduring mark in the region.

Here are the inaugural inductees:

1. Tom Ries – Newport

2. Stan Arnzen – Newport

3. Jim Connor – Newport / NewCath

4. Frank Pangallo – NewCath

Most inductees or their families have already been contacted. If anyone has information that may help reach some of the past generations or their families, please contact Kevin Gray at kevin.gray@beechwood.kyschools.us.

The 9th Region will continue to celebrate not just baseball accomplishments, but the people who built the foundation of the sport in the Ninth Region. Their dedication, passion, and excellence continue to inspire the players who take the field today.

Welcome to the beginning of a new tradition. Welcome to the 9th Region Baseball Hall of Fame.
