Jordan Baldridge Announces Campaign for Kenton County Commissioner, District 3

Lakeside Park, KY – Jordan Baldridge today announced his candidacy for Kenton County Commissioner in District 3, launching a campaign focused on affordability, good jobs, smart growth, healthy and safe communities, and modern, transparent government.

Baldridge, a senior software engineer, lives in Lakeside Park with his wife and young son. He said he is running because too many families are being priced out of the communities they love, growth is happening without enough planning, and county government needs stronger public engagement and more modern systems.
“Kenton County should be a place where working families can afford a home, find good jobs, raise their kids, and trust their local government,” Baldridge said. “That’s not politics, that’s common sense.”

He said county government must focus on quality of life across essential services, including public safety, economic development, infrastructure, planning and zoning, and human services.

To achieve this, Baldridge says working to expand affordable housing, creating good-paying jobs through responsible growth, and expanding job training in the trades, technology, and emerging industries is key. He also emphasized the importance of supporting small businesses and unions as central to a strong local economy.
“Smart growth means balancing development with protecting our quality of life, attracting high-quality jobs, and training and keeping our skilled workers here in Kenton County,” Baldridge said. “When we grow, current residents should benefit first.”

On health and safety, Baldridge supports increased investment in community programs.

“Health and safety aren’t just about emergency response, they’re about whether people have stable housing, access to care, and support as they age,” Baldridge said. “When we invest in things like community health, youth jobs, senior services, and have strong local partnerships, we’re building a county where everyone can thrive.”

Baldridge also said county government needs stronger public engagement and more modern systems. He believes residents are too often shut out of the decision-making process, and more work needs to be done to modernize information systems.

“People deserve to be heard and to know how decisions are made,” Baldridge said. “Trust is earned. As Commissioner, my job will be to listen, be honest, and deliver results for the people of Kenton County.”
