Highland Heights provided a timeline update Tuesday night on the final component of phase one of the city’s park expansion project.

City Administrator Michael Giffen said construction on the final portion of phase one is scheduled to begin next month and continue throughout the summer, bringing several new amenities to the area surrounding the pickleball courts.

“Most of the work focuses on amenities being added around the pickleball court,” Giffen said. “Planned improvements include a bocce ball court, fire pit, hillside slide and expanded picnic and lounging areas.”

Council heard the resolution for the upcoming additions at the city’s March meeting, which is just a small part of the larger greenspace initiative that was shared nearly two years ago.
