A winter weather advisory will be in effect in Boone, Kenton and Campbell counties from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

Total snow accumulation is expected to be 1 to 2 inches, with isolated higher amounts in some areas.

“Total ice accumulations of a light glaze are possible,” the advisory says.

Specific affected areas in Northern Kentucky include Florence, Oakbrook, Bellevue, Highland Heights, Alexandria, Independence, Burlington, Fort Thomas, Erlanger, Newport and Covington. Dowtown Cincinnati will likely also be affected.

Road conditions may be hazardous. Overpasses and bridges will be especially susceptible to slippery conditions, and drivers should exercise caution during their morning commutes.

Each county has its own emergency notification system, which residents can learn about at the links below. All systems are free.
