A winter weather advisory is in effect for much of Northern Kentucky until 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Between one and three inches of snow is possible.
Affected areas include Independence, Newport, Dayton, Burlington, Erlanger, Covington, Fort Thomas, Bellevue, Highland Heights, Alexandria, Crittenden, Oakbrook and Florence, among other cities throughout Kentucky and Ohio.
Road conditions will be affected, and the National Weather Service is encouraging drivers to exercise caution. Kenton County has already declared a level 1 snow emergency, which also entails cautious driving.
