St. Elizabeth Healthcare will host a public event on cancer screening and prevention at the Latonia Branch of the Kenton County Public Library on Feb. 4 from 1 to 3 p.m.

The event coincides with World Cancer Day. The Kentucky Cancer Program, the Northern Kentucky Health Department and the library itself are partnering with the hospital system to put on the event.

The event will serve as an opportunity to learn about cancer screening and navigation, get prevention tips, learn about genetic testing and other measures for assessing risk factors and speak with St. Elizabeth representatives to get connected to relevant services within the hospital system, including financial counseling. Other information on other resources throughout the community will also be available.

St. Elizabeth’s mobile mammography van will be present at the event, although people interested in getting screened will need to call ahead and make an appointment. Call (859) 655-7400 (or use St. Elizabeth’s MyChart portal if you’re already a patient) to make an appointment.
