With heavy snows predicted for this weekend, many in the region are likely gearing up to clear their driveways and walkways of snow.

Shoveling snow, of course, is a fun activity that everyone looks forward to and no one ever complains about. How frustrating then when a snow plow comes along and ruins it by plowing snow that’s gathered on the road onto your freshly shoveled driveway.

Luckily, there’s a way to avoid this.

If you’re standing on your driveway facing the road, clear the area just to the left of your driveway. That way, as the truck moves past your home, gathered snow won’t splash across the concrete. Consult the diagram from Kenton County Public Works below to see how to prevent so-called second shoveling by snow plows.
