LIHEAP offers subsidies paid directly to energy providers for qualifying households.

Subsidy amounts are based on household size and income. LIHEAP is administered through the Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission, which has walk-in neighborhood centers in its seven-county service area, where people can learn if they’re eligible and apply.

Applicants must provide proof of income, energy billing records and other forms of identification documents in order to apply. You can learn more about the necessary documentation, eligibility criteria and where to apply by visiting nkcac.org/services/family-services/financial-assistance.
