The Kenton County clerk’s office is inviting Kenton County residents to sign up for its new real estate fraud detection service.

The service notifies participants anytime someone files paperwork with the county bearing a resident’s name. Although this will not outright prevent fraud or identity theft from occurring, it will enable residents to detect if fraudsters attempt to use a resident’s name and information to engage in document or real estate falsification through local government offices.

You can sign up at fraudalertme.com/kentonkynw/frauddetection.asp. LINK nky has verified that this initiative is, in fact, a clerk’s office initiative and not an attempt to mislead residents into sharing their information. Questions should be directed to the Kenton County Clerk’s Office by calling (859)392-1600.
