Horizon Community Foundation and the Notre Dame Urban Education Center are partnering in a new fund to help move money into the Center’s educational programs. The Center is a faith-based nonprofit connected to the Sisters of Notre Dame USA, which provides a variety of educational programs for students in preschool through middle school.

“The new fund will strengthen [Notre Dame Urban Education Center’s] core programming, reduce barriers to participation and ensure students have access to safe learning environments and consistent academic and social support,” according to an announcement from the Horizon Community Foundation.

“Partnerships like this strengthen the support we provide to children and families every day,” said Erin Woods, director of development at the Notre Dame Urban Education Center. “We are grateful to Horizon for recognizing the power of education and community collaboration to create lasting change.”

The Center has already been awarded a $50,000 challenge grant from the Butler Foundation. This means the foundation will match every dollar up to $50,000 donated to the Center.
