Northern Kentuckians will have the opportunity to meet several of their local legislators at an upcoming series of coffee meet-and-greets.
The Northern Kentucky Chapter of Kentuckians For The Commonwealth and the Boone County Education Association are inviting members of the Kentucky General Assembly who serve on the Northern Kentucky Legislative Caucus to a series of “Coffee for the Commonwealth” events this winter and early spring.
The events, scheduled for Jan. 24, Feb. 28 and March 21 in Boone, Campbell and Kenton counties, respectively, are open to the public and are intended to give residents an opportunity to speak directly with their elected officials in informal, community-based settings.
The first event will be held on Jan. 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at Pixi Sweets, located at 7736 U.S. 42 in Florence. KFTC and the Boone County Education Association will provide information about the Kentucky General Assembly, how residents can engage legislators during the session, and details on priority legislation for the organizations.
The event is expected to be fully underway by 10:30 a.m. Materials such as postcards and advocacy tools will be available for those unable to meet with legislators in person. Pixi Sweets will be open for attendees to purchase refreshments.
The second event is scheduled for Feb. 28, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Newport branch of the Campbell County Public Library. Informational materials will again be available, and organizers will provide coffee from Roebling Books and Coffee along with additional refreshments.
A third event is planned for March 21, though specific details are still being finalized. Additional information will be released by KFTC and the Boone County Education Association at a later date.
Those interested in attending are encouraged to RSVP and can find more information about upcoming events at kftc.org/events.
