The City of Florence is bringing back its ‘Valentines for Troops’ initiative for 2026.

Through ‘Valentines for Troops,’ Florence residents are invited to send a thoughtful or heartfelt message to United States military personnel deployed overseas on Valentine’s Day.

From now until Jan. 16, community members are encouraged to drop off Valentine’s cards, handwritten letters, and notes at the Administration Department, located inside the Florence Government Center at 8100 Ewing Boulevard.

To ensure safe and timely delivery, submissions must be no larger than 8.5 by 11 inches, submitted without envelopes and free of glitter or other materials that could detach during shipping. Messages should begin with a general salutation such as “Dear Hero” or “Dear Brave One.” Participants may include photos of themselves, their families, classrooms or community groups. All submissions will be screened prior to shipment to ensure they meet program guidelines.

The program is open to residents of all ages, and participants are encouraged to be creative by submitting handwritten notes, original artwork, or coloring pages.

Additional information is available by contacting the Administration Department at the Florence Government Center at (859) 647-8177. Media inquiries may be directed to City Clerk and Public Relations Administrator Melissa Kramer at melissa.kramer@florence-ky.gov.
