Four more candidates have filed to run for Florence City Council, bringing the field to nine.

Incumbent David Schneider and newcomer Shari Kilmer registered for the race on Jan. 5, according to the Kentucky Secretary of State’s website. In addition, incumbent Gary Winn filed for reelection on Dec. 30, while Jim Leach filed on Dec. 19.

Schneider, Kilmer, Winn and Leach join Jonathan Trimble, Joe Berkshire and Duane Froelicher, along with incumbents Lesley Chambers and Angie Cable, in an already crowded race.

Florence City Council is made up of six members elected at large, each representing the city as a whole rather than a specific district. Council members serve staggered four-year terms, with elections held during the city’s regular municipal election cycle.

The deadline for candidates to file for the 2026 election cycle is Jan. 9, by 4 p.m.
