The Enzweiler Building Institute recognized three organizations and individuals for their contributions to construction training and workforce development during its third annual awards event on Nov. 20.
The Enzweiler Building Institute, operated by the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky, provides training for high school students and adults entering the trades.
Brian Miller, executive vice president of the Building Industry Association of Northern Kentucky, said the honorees reflect ongoing efforts to strengthen the region’s construction workforce.
“These honorees represent the heart of our mission,” he said in a news release. “Their leadership, partnership, and continued investment in workforce development ensure that the Enzweiler Building Institute remains a cornerstone for training and opportunity in our region. We are grateful for their commitment and excited for what the future holds because of their efforts.”
The Kenton County School District was honored with the institute’s Champion of the Year award for its collaboration on career and technical education initiatives and its efforts to increase hands-on training opportunities for students pursuing skilled trades.
BME Inc. was named Partner of the Year for its ongoing involvement with Enzweiler programs, including equipment support, student engagement and industry guidance.
Fred Cernetisch from Pella Windows & Doors was honored with the institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award. With decades of experience in the regional construction industry, Cernetisch has also dedicated himself to mentoring students and promoting workforce training programs.
