The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet launched a slide-stabilization project on Walton‑Nicholson Road, also known as KY-16, in southern Boone County.
Road crews, who began work on Wednesday, are working west of the intersection with Dixie Highway, or U.S. 25, at approximately the 2.7-mile mark.
Construction work is planned between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., involving the closure of one westbound lane and the deployment of flaggers to direct traffic through the work zone. This initiative responds to recent shoulder movement and aims to enhance roadway safety.
Weather permitting, the stabilization should be completed by Dec. 24. Drivers should anticipate delays during peak periods and plan accordingly.
