Level 1 snow emergencies have been declared in both Boone and Kenton Counties, as of Tuesday morning.
There are also plenty of school closures around the region. Check them out at our media partner WCPO’s website here.
Level 1 snow emergencies entail hazardous road conditions, including snow drifts and the potential for ice buildup. Although driving is not outright prohibited during level 1 emergencies, caution is advised.

Any time snow accumulation exceeds 2 inches, cars and other vehicles cannot be parked anywhere on public roads so that snow plows can have enough room to move and clear snow.
Anyone who leaves their car on a public road during a snow emergency can risk being charged with a fine (or getting their car buried by a plow!).
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory, which is in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday morning. Stay up to date with the winter weather at the National Weather Service’s website.
