Walton-Verona Independent Schools Superintendent Matt Baker has announced his intent to retire.
In a letter addressed to the Walton-Verona Independent Board of Education, Baker said he plans to retire effective June 30, 2026 after eight years as the district’s superintendent.
“Serving as the Superintendent of Walton-Verona Independent Schools for the past 8 years has been the greatest honor of my career,” Baker said in the letter. “I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to work alongside such a dedicated board and talented staff.”
