Highland Heights announced two updates on new city projects Tuesday night.

The city received a $3 million grant for the first phase of its two-phase project for sidewalk additions from the I-471 intersection to Renshaw Road. The project will be ongoing for the next few years.

“This is super exciting news, and we’re so happy about it,” said City Administrator Michael Giffen. “This is a good first step, and I think a long future outlook on how we can improve that road connectivity.”

The council also discussed a resolution that would allow the city to take the next steps in designing the new pickleball court as part of the greenspace study announced earlier this year.

The $16,500 project will dig into the ins and outs of the project’s design and amenities with the city’s engineers to help bring the new city addition to life.
