As summer approaches, the Institute for Health Innovation at Northern Kentucky University announced the launch of Camp Norse, a pre-collegiate summer camp tailored to students entering grades six through 12.

Camp Norse allows students to explore in-demand careers, experience college life and cultivate skills for future success. From June 17 to Aug. 16, over 400 campers will participate in one-week themed camps, both day and overnight.

Camp Norse provides a comprehensive experience for middle and high school students, featuring:

  • Engaging in interactions with NKU faculty and experts in their respective fields.
  • Opportunities to connect with NKU students, offering insights into college life.
  • Hands-on activities to foster experiential learning.
  • Access to dedicated camp healthcare professionals, including a nurse and mental health specialist.

“Our mission with Camp Norse is to provide a transformative experience that not only educates but empowers students to envision and pursue their future aspirations,” said Institute for Health Innovation Director Carolyn Noe.

Day camps, operating from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., provide participants with lunch and a snack. Overnight camps offer accommodations at Commonwealth Hall, and all meals are provided at Norse Commons, the campus dining hall.

Camp Norse also offers optional early drop-off and aftercare services for campers and their families.
