Terry Hatton said he is running for Kentucky House District 67 because he wants Northern Campbell County to have representation in Frankfort that listens to residents and advocates for the district.

Hatton said he has spent his entire life in House District 67. He graduated from Dayton High School, built his business in the area and raised his family there. He also served in the U.S. Army and said he has volunteered in the community for decades.

Hatton faces Democrat Matt Lehman in the Nov. 3 general election.

“My answer for what motivates me to run is simple: it is this community,” Hatton said. “I love my hometown, and I want to make sure that I am doing my part to ensure that this is the best place for everyone to work, live, and raise a family.”

Hatton said his military service and community involvement shaped his interest in public service. He said he wants to bring that experience to Frankfort while representing residents on issues affecting families, businesses, schools, infrastructure, veterans and public safety.

If elected, Hatton said his first priority would be working to lower Kentucky’s individual income tax so residents keep more of their earnings.

Hatton said reducing the income tax could give families more money for expenses, housing, children and savings while making Kentucky more attractive to residents and businesses.

He also said he wants to ensure House District 67 is represented when decisions affecting the district are made in Frankfort.
