After more than two decades helping review Crescent Springs’ finances, Robert Flaherty is running for city council.
Flaherty has served on the city’s Finance Committee for more than 20 years and said he regularly attends council and caucus meetings. That experience, he said, has given him a close look at how Crescent Springs manages its budget and weighs spending decisions.
Professionally, Flaherty said he brings 30 years of business and management experience through working at a Fortune 500 company.
Flaherty said much of his attention remains on the city’s finances. He wants Crescent Springs to closely examine expenditures while planning for infrastructure and other long-term needs. He also pointed to traffic as an issue he believes the city should continue working to address.
“I believe Crescent Springs must remain financially responsible while continuing to provide services residents expect,” he told LINK nky. “The city should carefully review expenditures, advocate for traffic mitigation, plan for infrastructure and other long -term needs, and make sure residents receive good value for their tax dollars.
Flaherty said residents should have clear information when the city is considering major projects or financial decisions. His years on the Finance Committee, he said, have also taught him the importance of asking questions and examining proposals before reaching a decision.
If elected, Flaherty said he would emphasize careful spending, communication with residents and making sure taxpayers receive value from the services the city provides.
LINK nky previously incorrectly reported that Flaherty had run for City Council in 2024. That information has been corrected, and the profile has been updated.
